Texaco Service Station
Southeast corner of Old US Hwy 30 and W C St.

This photo of the Texaco Station (looking south) was taken by Martha (Davis) Van Natta on July 31, 1965. She wrote that the lads in the car were heading for Longview to work at the Fibre. The Texco sat across the Highway (to the east of) the Les Ingold Chevron Station.
Jerry Goe operated the Texaco station in the 1950s. His wife was Dagmar "Daggie" Goe who was an elementary school teacher. Carl Pearce operated the station from the 1960s into the 1970s. His wife, Frances, delivered newspapers for 20 years. Carl left the station at about the same time Frances retired from her route.

Texaco Station Has New Operators
Boyd Clark and Jerry Goe are reopening the Rainier Texaco Station this week under the name Boyd and Jerry's Texaco Service. They will offer all the services usual to a service station. They are working now at remodeling and repair that was needed. They have gas in two tanks but early this week was doing work on others to have equipment up to full capacity.

Comments from Facebook, March 2015:

Margaret Barton-Ross: Jerry Goe was married to Dagmar Goe who taught many of us in second or third grade. I think I can safely say she was a favorite with most of her students. As for the time he owned it I can't say. Their daughter Diana Vigoren still lives in Rainier.

Julia D. Hammond: I went with Francis on her Sunday morning deliveries...that lady could drive them back roads! That was early `70`s.

Darlene Pearce: They were my mother & father in law. Frances carried the paper for 20 years before retiring. And Carl left the station about the same time.

Kay Heflin: My father-in-law, Don Heflin, worked with Carl Pierce at this Texaco station.
