W. F. Joseph's Rainier Garage / Standard Service Station
Northeast corner of E B St (Hwy 30) and E 2nd St.

Photo above (looking northeast) was taken sometime in the 1930s, contributed by Jesse Brawand. He wrote "Here's Grandpa Joseph in his early years in front of the station. The station only having a single visible pump."

W.F. Joseph's service station, late 1930s or early 1940s. The man in the chair identified on back of photo as Howard. Contributed by Connie Budge.

Another photo taken at about the same time as the two above from Connie Budge. Contributed by Amy Painter.

Photo above (looking northwest) contributed by Amy Painter, William F. Joseph's granddaughter. Photo possibly from the late 1940s or early 1950s. Red Coffman: That's Bill on the left in front, bib overalls always. Lot of good fishing trips and other joys with Bill Joseph my good neighbor. Karen Keith Waddell: I think that is my grandpa (Tom) Keith sitting on the bench in the back! The hat and the way he is sitting is so him!
The ground on which the building was standing was not stable and it caused structural problems. This led to the eventual closing of the service station and it was torn down sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s. William F. Joseph passed away in 1974 and is buried in the Green Mountain Cemetery.
