The McGlone Family of Rainier, Oregon

James Fleming "Lark" McGlone and his wife Martha Ellen with their daughter Ada, about 1927.

James Fleming "Lark" McGlone and his wife Martha Ellen arrived in Rainier, Oregon in 1911 from Carter County Kentucky with 4 sons. They joined several members of Martha Ellen's Burchett family from Kentucky who also settled in Rainier, mostly in Kentucky Flats. These were William "Dick" Burchett, Florence (Burchett) Counts, Louisa Jane "Lida" (Burchett) Prichard, and Victoria "Tory" Burchett (whose daughter May married Syras Everman). Lark passed away in 1944. Martha Ellen lived to 101, passing away in 1976. Martha Van Natta, daughter of Ada Louise (McGlone) Davis, wrote a history, plus memories of her McGlone grandparents titled "The McGlone Family House" that can be viewed here.
